What We Do
We operate a programme designed to permit cardiac monitoring over the telephone using pocket sized ECG monitors to ensure direct and immediate access to diagnosis and consultation. We are also offering pulmonary and other medical parameters monitoring. The pocket sized computerized ECG monitor records and stores into memory all 12 leads and a rhythm strip simultaneously. It is then placed on the mouthpiece of a phone for transmission to NCMC. Transmissions can be achieved using ordinary or cellular phones from the GP’s practice or from the patient’s home. The simplicity of the machine and the system allows you to have an ECG record/ report while the patient is with you. Upon calling the centre an ECG transmission lasting 55 seconds will be performed, followed by a discussion of clinical details such as symptoms, medication and patient history. Immediate on-line verbal consultation is then followed by a full written report, confirmed by Clinical Director/ Cardiologist which can be emailed, mailed or faxed to the practice.
